Camden Passage, Islington, London

An 18th Century town house used as offices since the 1970's, refurbished as a private home for a collector of Art Deco.

Originally an 18th Century town house in Islington, this building was used for many years as office accommodation, leaving the original character and features entirely lost. This project re-converted the property to a house for a collector of Art Deco. The house was planned around the collection, and incorporates bespoke bathrooms and a kitchen, as well as details including window shutters, radiators and bamboo floors. The new staircase extends within a glass brick enclosure and includes vertical stainless steel balusters and a black leather-clad handrail.
